Annual Fall Fundraising Campaign- Update
Our 2017 Annual SHCF Fall Mail Campaign letters requesting annual financial support for the Sweet Home Community Foundation went out in late October and donations have been slow this year. To date, just under $3,000 has been received compared to $6,000 last year.
We have partnered with several local groups to act as their fiscal sponsor to help them raise funds for specific projects that meet our mission. Groups such as the Sweet Home Community Turf Project, Little Library Project, and recently the Sweet Home Rotary's "Read, Lead and Succeed" Project but Fall Campaign Funds are not used for those projects unless designated.
Funds raised through the Fall Mail Campaign are used to fund grant projects of non-profit groups (that apply for our annual grants) and must meet our mission to "Improve the quality of life in the Sweet Home Community". Depending on the quality of the grants, some Fall Campaign funds are set aside for future projects.
Each year grants are awarded to projects that meet the mission. Grants have been awarded to groups such as: Sunshine Industries, Sweet Home Emergency Ministries (SHEM), East Linn Museum, Sweet Home Library Childrens' Programs, Summer Parks and Recreation, CASA of Oregon, Meals on Wheels, Sweet Home Beautification Projects, etc.
